Making “scents” of our heritage.

It all began with an idea. My children and I are passionate about candles that give you all the feels and bring you to a place of peace and comfort. We love using healthy and natural ingredients and truly pour love into every single candle. It all started as a dream to share with my kids from spending hours in stores smelling all the candles.
When our beloved dog (Keiko) passed away in June, we needed something positive to focus on. The name Keiko means beautiful flower. We are huge animal lovers, however Keiko was special. She was my first pet as an adult and my daughter picked her out when she was just 2 years old. My son, who is 8, only knew life with her because I had her before he was born.
Keiko was so sweet and she had an impact on everyone she met. She may have been just a dog but with a personality like hers, you can’t ignore feeling like you want to be more like her.
To me, it is important to always make a positive out of a negative. Therefore, when Keiko did pass away, my kids and I dove deep into creating and learning how to make candles. We were consumed with research to use only the best and healthiest of ingredients.
We all found we have a new passion we can share with each other. Therefore, together, myself, a 12 yr old and and 8 yr old decided to put our dreams into action! With a very strong background in Norse culture and wanting to show respect and gratitude towards our ancestors, Viking Candles was born.

Our candles are meant to inspire and motivate. We are all warriors of our own; overcoming large or small battles. Each candle is named after a viking warrior to remind us daily to be inspired, encouraged, confident, and acklowledge our inner strength. This purpose is close to my heart because I am raising a strong independent daughter meanwhile I have a son obsessed with all things viking is a total history buff. Teaching them to be leaders and inspire and encourage others is a must.

Our logo contains the symbol for a “Vegvisir” a “Viking Compass”. The symbols on the compass mean protection, direction, stability, finding one’s way, making right decision, being in control, and guidance. All things I strive to have myself and instill in my children.
